Over 500 fathers and sons attended the first week of the Avos Ubanim Betzalel learning program this past Motzoei Shabbos in Crown Heights and East Flatbush.
The excitement on the faces of the boys as well as on the faces of their fathers was contagious. It was heartwarming to witness the bonding of the boys with their fathers as they spent quality time together. Incentives and prizes galore with inspiring divrei chizuk topped off this wonderful Motzei Shabbos experience.

The Avos Ubanim program is known as Avos Ubanim Betzalel in loving memory of Reb Betzalel Jacobson OBM, dedicated by his son Yerachmiel Jacobson. “This year we are launching a very unique project which will hopefully bring a new chizuk to both fathers and sons so as not to miss out on any of the evenings of Avos Ubanim,” organizers said.
Avos Ubanim has created a very informative card game on הלכות שמיטה, חלה ,ביכורים,ערלה,וכו. The program contains card sets (3 cards) which the boys will be able to collect weekly by attending Avos Ubanim. By the end of the winter every boy will be able to have completed his own Avos Ubanim card game according to how many weeks he attended.

Another father-son event! So wonderful! And all those happy faces in these pictures – truly heart-warming. I’m glad to see these pictures, it reminds me that there are sons who are happy with their fathers, and who so enjoy these events. Fine, I’ll admit to a bit of pain. My son doesn’t have a father.
