Hundreds from Brooklyn’s Flatbush and Crown Heights communities turned out to support RCCS – Rofeh Cholim Cancer Society at their annual summer barbeque event.
The event took place outdoors on East 22nd Street and Avenue I, in front of the home of Pinny and Yaffa Rand, and participants enjoyed barbequed meats, wine tasting, a sushi bar and desserts.
The Mezamrim choir accompanied by singer Shea Rubinstein provided entertainment.
MC Chaim Wielgus presented awards to Chaim Deutsch of Flatbush and Dovid Rogatsky of Crown Heights.
Each year, RCCS saves the lives of hundreds of cancer-stricken patients in need by subsidizing their health insurance premiums, thus providing them access to the best possible medical care.
This month RCCS has unfortunately seen record-breaking numbers, they reported, with 18 applications for insurance funding received in a 2-week period this past month.
Today, RCCS subsidizes insurance policies for over 300 cancer-stricken patients each year, and provides hundreds more with insurance advocacy, social services, and medical direction.
