I saw the Rebbe with my own eyes speak to those two boys. I use to live on Brooklyn Ave. Thanks JEM

I recall the Rebbe walking home during those years. Carrying his paper bag…
what a humbling experience to watch this video.
what amazing Kiddush HaShem.
The Rebbe was the paradym of everything excellent in Yiddishkei.
each and eveyone of must re-examine our attitudes to our neighbors… this will surely help hasten the Geulah
If the Rebbe never walked home during the weekdays in the 70’s & 80’s when exactly did it happen?
#12-It’s not YOUR memory so why should it matter if it makes sense to you. It’s totally plausible, and he didn’t say just on Shabbos.
My problem with the story are the dates & years he refers to.
Since about 1965 the Rebbe did not walk from and to his home during the weekdays only on Shabbos did the Rebbe walk and then with a few Bochrim behind him (except after farbrengens when a much larger crowd followed), so first of all, on Shabbos the Rebbe didn’t carry any money with him C”V, secondly, it would be very far fetched that in the 70′s or early 80′s something like this happened even once, let alone many times and nobody ever heard about this.
I can relate to all the above comments ( #1 to #10) yes it is something we dont see often from the Rebbe, a different side to him indeed, However, I remember as a Bochur in 770, we would walk the rebbe home Friday night, and Shabbos when there were no farbreingens,,,,,,, we would walk 30-40 feet behind the Rebbe, yes I have seen many times then, when the Rebbe would wave to African American children and adults, I remember once on Brooklyn Ave from the 3rd floor window (?) a woman called out to the Rebbe ” good afternoon… Read more »

Just watched this video in yeshiva shule in melbourne australia and it is AMAZING! So inspiring and we are so lucky to have such an amazing and caring rebbe! May we all learn from the rebbe not to discriminate against those who are of different races and not to disregard kids because what you say to them can lead to their actions as adults! Ashreinu!
