Welcome you to a non-conventional halacha course, launched by TheYeshiva.net, presenting for the first time the intricacies of Jewish law with its spiritual and psychological symbolisms in Chassidus.
Rabbi Levy Wineberg, author of Lessons in Tanya and an halachic scholar, is the Rosh Kolel of the Mizrachi Kolel and dean of Beis Mindrash LeHoraah, a rabbinical ordination institute in Johannesburg, South Africa.
“There is no real understanding of Judaism and of Chassidus without a mastery of Halacha. This new series will demonstrate how each law mirrors and reflects some of the richest and exciting ideas in Chassidus,” says Rabbi YY Jacobson, dean of TheYeshiva.net.
Rabbi Wineberg presents here for the first time the practical laws of building (Boneh) on Shabbos, but infusing them with their Chassidic and spiritual interpretation.
This class explores the prohibition known as Makeh Bapatish—delivering the final hammer blow, which means completing a product on Shabbos.
You will discover the underlying principles of the prohibition to complete a product, and you will also discover the fascinating parallels to these laws in Chassidus, particularly how this represents the spiritual work our generation and explains how it is our generation that will bring Moshiach.
The classes are presented every Sunday evening on TheYeshiva.net and COLlive.com. They are also available in MP3 and MP4. Down load the PDF curriculum.
Rabbi Wineberg began explaining the principles behind the issue. He said he will conclude it next week.
