Educational Institute Oholei Torah for Lubavitch boys in Crown Heights will be celebrating its 55th Annual Dinner on February 21, 2010 – 7 Adar 5770.
This year will be an unprecedented event, with many of the Honorees from across America coming together to rally in support of Oholei Torah, and the vital services it provides the children and Talmudical students from Chabad Lubavitch communities around the Globe.
An Oholei Torah alumnus and resident of Crown Heights, Simon Jacobson, is being honored as the Man of the Year, together with a close circle of his friends and associates who have pledged their support to further the cause and goals of the school.
“I am proud of the investments my close friends and associates have made with Oholei Torah, while stocks may come and go, Oholei Torah has been and will be a beacon of Torah education and values of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson,” Jacobson, an investment advisor, said.
“I have seen first hand the self sacrifice of the administration and of the teachers to constantly strive to reach out to more and more students, giving them the love and appreciation of our great legacy that they will take, spread and encourage others,” Jacobson added.
In addition to Jacobson and his associates, well known attorney Max Leifer is being honored as the Attorney of the Year, a long time friend of Rabbi Eliezer Gold, Capitol Fund Director of Oholei Torah.
A special memorial tribute is planned for Pearl Shapolsky, obm, who with her husband, Harry J. Shapolsky, have been loyal supporters of the School.
Executive Director Rabbi Joseph Rosenfeld together with his son Rabbi Sholom Rosenfeld, Director, express their deep appreciation to all those who will be contributing to the success of this event, and they look forward to greeting the many guests at the upcoming Dinner.
The Director of Development Rabbi Nosson Blumes has met with many of the evening’s honorees to ensure the success of the event, and is sure that this evening will be a base on which the school will grow to even higher heights in the wider Jewish community of philanthropy.
