Hashem seemed to have stopped the days of rain, just in time for the Cheder at the Ohel Lag b’Omer Parade on Lag b’Omer morning.
Cheder at the Ohel held its 2nd annual Lag B’omer Parade elevating the pavement in Valley Stream, Long Island.
With the streets blocked off and a police escort, grades pre1a-6th grade participated with posters encouraging Torah and mitzvos for Jews and the 7 mitzvos b’nai Noach for gentiles. They were lead by a van playing lively chassidish music. 6th grade also had a marching band.
The parade route went through part of breathtaking Valley Stream state park. Passersby could be seen smiling at the scene of the sweet cheder boys. The boys took a break in the middle of marching to stop and have a short rally complete with the 12 posukim.
Back at Cheder, the festivities continued with a chassidish farbrengin where 6th graders Meir Deren and Schner Deren gave over the Hayom Yom and a devar Torah about Lag b’Omer.
