On Sunday, the Director and Head Counselor of Machane Heights biking day camp met with Patrolman Frank Bulzoni of the neighborhood 71st precinct.
Patrolman Frank sat with Rabbi Peretz Blasberg and Rabbi Dovid Blasberg for an hour discussing bike safety and how the police can help insure the boys of Machane Heights can have a quality, safe summer.
They discussed how the boys ride their bikes to the Lubavitcher Yeshiva on Crown St, where the camp meets daily, including Sundays, from 8:15-4:30.
Patrolman Frank heard how the boys ride their bikes to the several neighborhood parks: Wingate Park, Lefferts/Metz Park, Rochester Park and Prospect Park. The boys always travel in small groups with two staff members in bike lanes to insure the maximum safety. A car with safety equipment and first aid materials always accompanies the boys. Patrolman Frank or a colleague will come to the camp and do a presentation to the campers.

It’s fantastic to have a camp where you teach our youth to be proactive about safety. Such an important life skill, we can’t assume children just pick it up naturally. My son normally attends overnight camp but I’m sending him to Machane Heights for this year to ensure he acquires this life skill.Yasher Koach and please open breaches in other cities as well. So important!
There they go again.
Best directors = best camp
A number 1 option for any boys not going to overnight camp
Thanks Dovid for being a positive force in CH for our children.
you are there for them 12 months a year.
Always happy, fun and instilled with yiras Shomayim and chassidus.
This is such an amazing and warm camp. My son loves it so much. He has gained so much confidence from his experience last summer. He is choosing to stay home and attend this camp over going to sleep away because he loved it so much!!! Definitely recommend!!
I have been going to this camp for the past 2 years, it is the best camp, the staff are so nice and warm.
recommend it
I’ve seen the camp riding threw the neighborhood on there bikes. they look so proper riding in the street one behind the other.
Finally an alternative for an overnight camp for those who cannot afford or don’t go for other reasons to overnight camp.
Thank you Rabbi Blasberg!!!
Thank you so much Rabbi Blasberg for initiating such a great camp this was long overdue and needed so badly in our community where there isn’t many options aside for overnight camp which cost a fortune
I like that the directors are proactively preparing for camp by partnering with NYPD for safety. Have a successful summer!
