Chabad Lubavitch of Northwest Connecticut will be hosting the 51st Annual N’shei Ubnos Chabad Convention-Retreat on November 30-December 2, 2012 at the Heritage Hotel in Southbury, CT.
The convention takes place in a different city each year enabling women in that region to attend.
The weekend, open to all Jewish women, is one of learning, sharing and camaraderie with Jewish women from across the United States and Canada and from countries across the globe.
Event highlights include world renowned guest speakers, exciting musical entertainment, gourmet kosher cuisine, swim and relaxation.
These conventions were established in 1962 by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, who stressed the powerful impact of women, inspired by the weekend, returning to their family and community to enthusiastically share their experience. The ripple effect touches the lives of countless people around the world.
Women can register for the entire weekend or for select segments by accessing the website, the51.org.
The weekend kicks-off with a buffet luncheon on Friday. Noted educator, columnist and lecturer Chana Weisberg will address the women on “The Feminine Soul – How the Daughters of the Alter Rebbe and other great Women impacted Jewish History.”
Women will have their choice of workshops and spa treatments in the afternoon before candle lighting, Kiddush and Shabbat Dinner.
The keynote speaker will be Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Jacobson, one of the most sought-after Jewish speakers in the world today. An exceptional orator, he has the remarkable ability to communicate profound mystical ideas in a down-to-earth way, allowing all of us to leave with the tools to enrich our lives.
Friday’s keynote speech by Rabbi Jacobson will address “4 life changing ideas of the Alter Rebbe for the Jewish Woman” and the evening will conclude with a joyous Chassidic Farbrengen.
Saturday evening’s Gala Mitzvah Auction and Melava Malka will precede a fabulous musical performance by the extremely talented Meleha joining the convention all the way from France.
Chani Krasnianski, co-director of Chabad of the Upper East Side, will deliver Sunday’s keynote address at the Grand Banquet. Sunday morning features exercise classes and a variety of interesting Workshops.
