Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, Chabad in the state of Georgia is focusing on growing its presence and activities.
The newest additions are Rabbi Leivy and Shelbelle Lapidus who are joining Chabad Intown in Atlanta, it was announced this week.
The center is run by Rabbi Eliyahu Schusterman and Dena Schusterman which has a Shul, the Intown Jewish Preschool, Intown Jewish Academy, the Jewish Business Network, Jeff’s Place and a Young Jewish Professionals program.
Rabbi Schusterman told COLlive.com that the fact that Chabad has its face forward in a time of financial uncertainty is “significant.”
He said that Rabbi Leivy, who grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina, will be running the chapter of Young Jewish Professionals (YJP) and focus on outreach efforts in general.
Their appointment was done with the approval of Georgia’s Head Shliach Rabbi Yossi New.
