New Haven Community Welcomes Torah

A new Torah was welcomed by the Chabad community of New Haven, CT, Sunday.

The Torah was completed at the home of real estate businessman Shmuel Aizenberg, who recently moved from Israel to New Haven.

The growing Chabad community in New Haven is now home to an estimated 100 families, who attend 4 different Shuls.

The new Torah was donated by Aizenberg, and will be used at the “Schlounge” Shul, which until now has been using a Torah borrowed from the main Lubavitch Shul in the area.

After the Torah was completed, it was led in a joyous procession with music and dancing through the city’s streets to the Shul for Hakafos.
