On Friday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed where he drew his inspiration when he proudly stood at the United Nations General Assembly and spoke “the truth” to Israel hating delegates.
“In 1984 when I was appointed Israel’s ambassador to the U.N., I visited the great Rabbi of Lubavitch. He said to me, you’ll be serving in a house of many lies. And then he said, remember that even in the darkest place, the light of a single candle can be seen far and wide,” Netanyahu said.
Over 24 hours after his speech, Netanyahu’s senior staff were spotted Motzoei Shabbos at the Old Montefiore cemetery in Queens, NY, visiting the Ohel gravesite of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, where they prayed and said Selichos.
Among them were Netanyahu’s chief of staff Natan Eshel, Cabinet Secretary Tzvi Hauser, bureau chief Gil Shefer and Israel’s Ambassador to the U.N. Ron Prosor.
Upon entering the Ohel, the delegation lit a candle and proceeded inside with a prayer book in their hands, praying for Israel’s safety and security.
They later went into the Ohel Chabad-Lubavitch Center where they watched clips of the round-the-clock video roll of the Rebbe provided by JEM.
The visit was coordinated by R’ Shloimi Peles, the personal aide to billionaire and philanthropist Lev Leviev who is a friend of Netanyahu.
