The Rohr Jewish Learning Institute (JLI) notified that the National Jewish Retreat, the largest Jewish learning retreat in the United States, will once again be commencing this summer.
The retreat draws upwards of 1000 participants to an unusual five-day Jewish immersion experience. The program, led by renowned thinkers, scholars and personalities, offers meaningful Jewish enrichment.
This past summer, due to the Covid-19 health pandemic, the retreat did not take place.
“As the country returns to normal life and routine, we are pleased to announce that we will be resuming the National Jewish Retreat this summer,” organizers announced on Wednesday.
The venue chosen was the Atlanta Evergreen Marriott Conference Resort which is nestled in the natural beauty of Stone Mountain Park and surrounded by 3,200 acres of lush greenery.
A 40-minute drive from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), the resort features newly renovated spacious rooms and suites, two pools, two championship golf courses, and family-friendly activities.
The five-day retreat is scheduled for 2–7 Elul, 5781 — August 10–15, 2021 and is held in collaboration with Chabad in Georgia, led by Head Shliach Rabbi Yossi New.
“While the facility can only accommodate less than our usual number of participants, we believe it will be a good transition back,” JLI said. “We are planning a first-rate program with all the hallmarks of the retreat with spiritual inspiration and physical rejuvenation.”
A medical advisory board will oversee that everything is done in accordance with CDC guidelines, they said.
