Such a living example of a Chassid and Mekushar… His thousands of talmidim are his true legacy…May his family only know of joy. Moshiach Now!

Pikuach nefesh is serious!

I am requesting a makor in the poskim for these stories with Reb Aba Pliskin and Reb Akiva Wagner – where despite the doctors orders they fasted on Yom Kippur “expressing their deep connection to Hashem”.

I don’t want to this to be taken the wrong way, and I have a very deep respect for my dear Rosh Yeshiva, but this story can have very dangerous ramifications with people not taking pikuach nefesh seriously!

Not so worried...

Not so worried that there are so many people on that level…
It is a famous argument of the Rishonim if the three Mitzvos are the ONLY mitzvos that one may be Moser Nefesh or are those three the ones that one MUST be moser nefesh…
Think of all the chassidim that were literaly moser nefesh for chinuch and kashrus in russia..
Welcome to Chabad
