Mrs. Yehudis Raksin, a longtime resident of Crown Heights, passed away on Wednesday, Hei Teves, 5776.
She was 89.
Mrs. Raksin was the daughter of the great Mashpia and Choizer of the Rebbe Rashab, Horav Avrohom Boruch Pevzner.
She served as the first President of N’Shei Chabad, the Chabad women’s organization, in the late 1960’s.
She is survived by her children Sterna Levitin, Nechama Losh, Lazar Raksin, Mendel Raksin, Boruch Raksin and Zalman Raksin of Crown Heights, Chanie Begun of Woodmere, NY and Gitty Neuwirth of Montreal, Canada, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sisters Fruma Junik and Nechama Lazar of Crown Heights.
She was predeceased by her husband, Rabbi Shraga Feivel Raksin obm, and her son, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Raksin obm.
The Levaya will take place Thursday, Hei Teves leaving Shomrei Hadas at 12:00 pm and passing by 770 at 12:30 pm.
The family is sitting Shiva at 628 Empire Blvd, top floor.

I remember her as a very intelligent woman, always looking like a lady and with the manners of a real lady. She left a beautiful legacy, a dedicated family of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A huge loss to our community. BDE.
