Mrs. Esther Shur of Montreal, mother of a large Lubavitch family, has passed away today, 27 Nissan.
She was 81.
She is survived by her husband, one of the elder Chabad Chassidim in Canada Reb Chaim Schneur Zalman Shur, and her children, Rebbetzin Shaindel Chaikin – Cleveland, Ohio, Reb Yosef Yitzchok (Fitche) Shur – Crown Heights, Mrs. Alta Silberstein – Montreal, Reb Moshe Shur – Montreal, Mrs. Kreina Lepkivker – Crown Heights, and Reb Yona Shur – Toronto.
Her son Berel obm of Jerusalem passed away in 1993.
The levaya will take place tomorrow, Monday at 12:00 pm at the Chesed Shel Emes in Montreal.
The family will be sitting Shiva at 5778 Trans Island, Montreal, Quebec.

She was a very kind and wonderful lady, a true aishes chayil. Yes, no 8, Berrel, lived in Israel, he was married to Hadassa, nee Vogel from London.
