An easy review of the paramount laws of family purity for every mikvah user is fulfilling the objective of its author 3 years after her passing.
“The Laws of Family Purity: A Digest” was compiled by renowned Shlucha Mrs. Bassie Azimov OBM and intended for members of the Jewish community in Paris, France.
A draft of the original copy was shown to the Rebbe over 20 years ago and received his encouragement. Health issues caused the printing to be delayed and for the project to be shelved.
When she passed away 3 years ago, her husband, Rabbi Shmuel Azimov, Head Shliach of Paris, found it in her night table and printed it in her memory. Their daughter Mrs. Esther Marasov did the final touches.
Taharas Hamishpacha International, which operates the awareness website Mikvah.org, liked the concept and asked Rabbi Azimov for permission to reprint it.
He agreed but has tragically passed away since as well so the 70-page femininely designed, spiral bound book is now dedicated in memory of both Rabbi and Mrs. Azimov.
“Pieces of it pulled together literally on the day he passed away — and so its fitting that it is dedicated in their honor,” says Mrs. Chassi Rivkin of the Taharas Hamishpacha International.
Since the original version in French with its content and design was approved by the Rebbe, the publishers took special care not to change its design and layout, she said.

It was translated by Mrs. Keren Vardi and the team of Mikvah.org. Rabbi Sholom Ber Chaikin, Posek and halachic authority in Cleveland, reviewed it.
Rivkin says it can be used as a base for a teacher to give students while teaching and students can add notes on the sides. It can also be simply given as a gift to a new kallah and mikvah user to enable frequent review.
