With sadness we inform you of the passing Friday night, at 12:00 o’clock, of Mr. Yosef Tzvi (Joel) Halevi Greene, OBM, of Boca Raton, Florida, a beloved askan and businessman.
He was 77 years old.
He was married to shlucha Mrs. Fay Kranz-Greene (nee Friedman).
Joel grew up in Brooklyn and served as President of Congregation Adereth El, in New York City, for 12 years. He was well known for his gemilus chassadim and generous hospitality.
Mr. Greene was a friend and supporter of several Chabad institutions, and was a founding member of the Chabad Minyan at the BRS Synagogue in Boca Raton.
“He was most generous of spirit, always ready and willing to do a favor,” said a family member.
His wife, Fay Kranz-Greene, and his children survive him: Paul Greene, Lisa Mozorosky and Cheryl Levy.
