Cheder Chabad of Monsey hosted a beautiful gala reception in honor of its 11th year anniversary this past Sunday night held in the grand ballroom of the Cheder Chabad of Monsey’s Girls Building.
The evening began with a Torah Fair and Science Expo where students displayed their love and excitement for learning followed by an elegant Dinner Reception.
Rabbi Yisroel Shusterman, Cheder Chabad’s Menahel, provided opening remarks and Rabbi Avrohom Wolowick, Principal of the Cheder Boys School, then recited the Rebbe’s Kapital of Tehillim. The President of Cheder Chabad, Yisroel Schulman, Esq. presented Rabbi Boruch Lesches, Rav of the Monsey Chabad community, the Avodas HaKodesh Award. Rav Lesches provided a Dvar Torah as well as words of praise for the Cheder’s teaching staff and Board of Directors.
Honoree Dr. Daniel Carr of Boston received the Pillar of Torah Benefactors Award and in his brief address remarked how impressed he was with the students of Cheder Chabad.
The many guests were then treated to the return of the Cheder Chabad of Monsey’s Boys Choir led by Bentzi Ptalis, of Kol Naor Boys Choir fame, accompanied by the live music of Rabbi Zalman Goldstein.
Reception guests were also treated to a new video featuring the Cheder’s Pre-School which was followed by the drawing for the Cheder’s Cash Bonanza launched last year. Cheder parent, Dr. Chaim Gross of Short Hills, NJ had the winning ticket and immediately donated the cash prize back to the Cheder!
In addition, a Chana Kurinsky Sheitel was raffled and won by Cheder parents, Rabbi & Mrs. Michel Gurkov of Wayne, NJ. A special surprise presentation was made to pillars of the Cheder, Avraham and Devorah Hayman for their on-going support of the Mosad.
Reception guests each received a copy of the Cheder’s Scroll of Supporters as well as a chocolate compact disc labeled with the Cheder’s logo placing a sweet ending on a beautiful evening.
