Seventh and eighth grade girls of Cheder Chabad of Monsey, together with their mothers, were fascinated by stories of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka as told by Rabbi Shamshi Junik at an evening event in honor of Chof Beis Shevat.
The event was part of the Cheder’s Foundations program, which is designed to help 7th and 8th grade girls smoothly navigate their early teenage years, a time when they begin to think more deeply about their identity and beliefs.
Rabbi Junik, who was privileged to work in the Rebbe and Rebbetzin’s home and to have a warm personal relationship with the Rebbetzin, captivated the audience with rarely heard anecdotes of the Rebbitzin. He also showed them a special gift he received from her.
As a sequel to this event, the girls are looking forward to the next Foundations event, a trip to Crown Heights for a tour of the Rebbe and Rebbetzin’s home.
