Famous Chasidic musician Moshe Mordechai Rosenblum said in a recent interview that he was touched by Chabad melodies.
Speaking to music website Shlager.net, “Mona” Rosenblum said: “There is intellectualism and a very deep soulfulness in Chabad niggunim. The blend between the two creates its uniqueness.”
Asked about a highpoint in his life, Rosenblum answered: “When my uncle R’ Moshe Gedalya Halperin passed away, we sang the awe-inspiring song Daled Bavos on his death bed.”
Daled Bavos is a central song in Chabad Chasidism, composed 200 years ago by Rabbi Schnuer Zalman of Liadi, the founder and first Chabad Rebbe.
Rosenblum remade the song in his album “Philharmona Vocali.” It is the Chabad custom to sing it when leading a chosson and kallah to the Chuppa.
