Mitzvah Tank to Honor Menachem

Dear Anash and friends around the world,

Hatomim Menachem Mendel Halevi Bruchstat obm was our classmate, a student in Oholei Torah.

He tragically passed away at the young age of 19. In his short life, he managed to touch so many. Despite all his difficulties and challenges, he always expressed his welcoming, loving and friendly nature.

Menachem’s Ahavas Yisroel is a reflection of his giant heart, as he used to unite all those that were with him. His love for people always shined through, as he was always looking to ensure that everyone was included. Menachem had a strong passion for Inyanei Moshiach, learning about Moshiach. His friends testify that when he heard ideas and concepts about Moshiach, his face would light up. He also had a tremendous passion and dedication towards Mivtzoim. He constantly used to ask his friends and class to go with him.

Every year Menachem’s class used to ensure they had a mitzvah tank for Chanukah. Menachem’s class used to always pick him up to go on mivtzoim – he always looked forward to it! One year this seemed unpromising, and when Menachem heard this, he began to fundraise – guaranteeing that it would happen. As a result of his phenomenal efforts, a Mitzvah tank was attained.

As a class we are launching a campaign in conjunction with the Mitzvah Tank Office, to fundraise $40,000 for a brand new Mitzvah Tank: “Menachem’s Tank”, in honor of Menachem. By purchasing and operating the Mitzvah Tank, we are celebrating Menachem’s love and dedication for mivtzoim which he cherished dearly. Every week it will be heading Manhattan-bound, with Menachem’s tefillin, which will have a home, and will be used once again on Menachem’s Tank.
