Seriously?

I had no idea Israel was so closed and scared of divergent thought.

lets start from the beginning

Many years ago there didn’t exist the concept of a hechsher. The gemoro says eid echod neman beisurim so we trusted our fellow butcher and Baker as long as the rov and the people felt he was trustworthy. As the years went by and the productions started in a larger scale it wasn’t one or a few people anymore that you had to trust, Iit was a whole production of pepole. So here came the kashrus idea, that pepole who were trustworthy irrelevant to if they were Jewish or not, got Rabbis to verify thet indeed there line was under… Read more »

#2- yes the kashrus does not have to do anything that they are missionarys (or not if they are giving out that matirial that means the entire place fi for missionary perposes and i wouldn’t trust them in the slightest……….. but anyway…..) #10- missionarrys and misnagdim are on a TOTALY DIFFERENT. misnagdim are not out to get us at all just because they are ignorent of any chassidus it doesn’t mean they are out to get us! anyway moral of the story is that we should always check and make sure the kashrus is good before going to any resturant… Read more »

It is important to realize that not every person commenting here is from crown heights, or has the same upbringing. When someone asks how the religious status of the owners affects the kashrus of a restaurant, they may be sincere and want to understand. no need to question their beliefs. As far as the explanation, I am not speaking on authority, but the kosher status relies on the supervisor to strengthen the trust we must already have in the owner. if the owner is clearly not trustworthy (as in this case, where they disguised their true intent) we cannot rely… Read more »

You ask: Missionaries or Misnagdim – who is more “trust worthy”?

I assume you are serious. Truth be told, as you say, they both are out to destroy us. The misnaged destroys with hate while the missionary destroys by trying to befriend with “love”.

But how can we survive without using O-U products? Without the C-R-C? And all the other kashrus orgs run by misnagdim?

Hechsher is a privilege. We shouldn’t enable a place of shmad to ensnare innocent people even if it’s glatt lemehadrin.
To #10 you really need to examine yourself. The Rebbe went out of his way to connect as many yiden to Chassidus and witha comment like yours you destroy everything in one go. Fortunately the most Lubavitchers are not like you.

These organizations are heavily funded by anti Semites, and like Esav, are dedicated to destroying Jews.So do you want to do business with such people? If even one Jew is G-d forbid affected by them,a whole world is lost forever.
Do you really want this Jewish blood”on your hands?

In bnei brak fo exp. If it opens late than some hour or have seets the kashrus will b revoked.
The Eyda haredis doesnt give kashrus to gums and so on
It is more than just food
It is the spirit
And to eat by chareidim not lubav its a personal discion.it your call.they by fact kosher.
Not like the missionerim that are treif due to their agenda

2 and 5 i agree
October 17, 2013 2:44 am

People obviously dont understand that kashrus has nothing to do with the spiritual level of the owner.. It is forsure worse to eat in a misnagids restaurant..
Gosh Crown Heightsers are so ignorant

Perhaps rename . . .

‘The Torah’ ‘The Newest Testament’ and this will become more popular? Then the missionaries will start giving these out?

Don't invest money in missionaries!
October 16, 2013 11:19 pm

Why would you give money to someone and support his prostlitizing!?

October 16, 2013 10:56 pm

All your telling me is that I shouldn’t trust your kashrus either. what makes starbucks the ultimate in kashrus??? I still remember the story of the butcher in Monsey who sold TRIEFE meat to ALL his frum chasidishe customers for years until he was finally caught. Misnagdim drink cholov stam and say there is nothing wrong with it, even when Moshe Fienshtien said that in a city where cholov yisroel can be gotten it is absolutely forbidden to drink cholov stam.

just saying
October 16, 2013 10:54 pm

the place was open for almost half a year and openly xtian sites brag about it’s opening. They also boast of opening a music school, etc. Like the Arabs openly boast of their intentions, so do the missionaries.

Are you both out of your minds???? would you trust your kashrus to someone who scoffs at your Torah? Or worse one who tries to sway you away from your Torah and religion??? I don’t care if he has every kosher seal in the universe I would NOT trust him as far as I could throw him. And why would you want to support someone who is working on breaking down yidden and yiddishkiet???? You know the story of the man who came into a cafe and asked the owner who’s hashgacha it has. and the owner pointed to a… Read more »

October 16, 2013 7:39 pm

How can anything be kosher in the hands of missionaries.
Yes, they will behave very nice, friendly and polite. Even support you monetary, but with only one intention in their minds. To convert you!!! U have to be a big full to think otherwise.

Kashrus supervision has to include more than just food. Could there be a supervision over places open on Shabbos and Yom Tov, topless bars, churches , mosques other avoda zoeoh or ‘alternate lifestyle’ facilities?! It would be a farce, a chillul HaShem to say “it’s just the food”. A place that pays for supervision wants to draw Jews in. HOW CAN YOU EVEN CONSIDER FOR A MOMENT THAT A HECHESHER CAN BE GIVEN TO AN ESTABLISHMENT WITH AN ANTI-tORAH AGENDA?!!

Anybody can comment here who says the ones commenting are from crown heights or Jewish and if they are from Crown Heights we have a lot of ignorant people here etc. etc.

Missionaries or Misnagdim - who is more "trust worthy"?
October 16, 2013 6:42 pm

I eat non-Lubav meat/chickens and also in non-Lubav food places. I even use Starbucks (is the owner/CEO Jewish?), but is that any better or worse than a place owned by missionaries? The missionary and misnaged BOTH are against us EQUALLY!

You would trust the Kashrus of wannabe or bona fide goyim??? WOW. No wonder Crown Heights is in such a mess. Whatever happened to yiras shamayim? I am stunned.

When we were at the Jewish Agency last week, our interviewer told us they catch most missionaries & refuse them entry, even the ones who are Halachically Jewish. This lady caught a Jewish Jews for J character & he was rejected. But obviously, some sneak through under the radar.

October 16, 2013 4:49 pm

I totally agree with you. If the owners are missionaries, that doesn’t change the kashrus so long as the kashrus agency can assure that theyare doing it right

The Owners are Missionaries
October 16, 2013 4:26 pm

To #2 –
Did you read the article?
The 4th paragraph says,
” ….the owners gave missionary material, including a New Testament…”
They gave them to the Kashrus Supervisors!

The Owners were Missionarries
