A 26 year-old single Chabad woman who went missing on Monday morning sparked international concern for her well-being among the frum Jewish community.
COLlive.com readers were asked to say Tefillim for Devorah Leah bas Faige Rochel after she has left her parents home in the London neighborhood of Stamford Hill and wasn’t in touch since.
“She left for college this morning and has not returned home,” a family member told COLlive. “It’s been 14 hours since she was last seen.”
(COLlive has honored the family’s request and has not posted her photo or her surname.)
A large search was underway with the Barnet – Metropolitan Police Service joining forces with the Shomrim of London and many local Jews.
At around 3:02am in London (10:03pm in New York), the Shomrim of London reported that she “has Boruch Hashem been located.”
According to Yeshiva World News, the Shomrim thanked “the dozens of volunteers who assisted in the search, and the people around the globe who were saying Tehillim for her.”
Another source told COLlive that young woman is “safe and sound.”
Bravo
Thank God she was found!!! its not such a safe world out there no matter how old they are
how is she????
Can’t resist this!
Number 66 , you’re doing JUST that, following all the gossip yourself, and making comments instead of doing what youre asking the others to do! so not really helping making “the less comments the better,” because you just added one more yourself!! I guess its pretty catchy! Quite funny! 😉
But seriously, though, B”h she was found, and we’re all in agreement that thats the most important part of this whole long sad story and all share the familys relief and joy
Keeping the privacy of the family as they requested will be respected: When my daughter called me 11pm last night I right away called a good chabad friend who is always available for anyone in London and after having only 3 hours sleep last two nights agreed to come out with me to go over to the Shomrim office which is a travel agency during the day to volunteer our services! They had 15 chevrah there all chasidish not Lubavitch manning phones, talking to Police and anyone who could help organising a massive search all over London. We were the… Read more »
First of all, the rebbe would never say what you just said. Second of all, dontg judge anyone if they decid e to go to college its their chce and how do you know it had sometthing to do with her dissapearance! Lastly, how can you react to a situation like that, so negatively, you should think before you write something like that!
B”H we should be happy that she is back home safe. People who want information should let the family have some peace now. All we need now is MOSHIACH!! Amen!!
its amazing how ppl love gossip!
amazingly sick.
keep to urself.
youre siting typing unneccesary comments
instead of saying tehillim..
bh she was found and its over.
the less comments the better.
Your right, #53 is not thinking positive, but he is thinking realistically. Ask any homicide detective.
1. The Rebbe never made a blanket declaration that no one should ever go to college under any circumstance. Your gross oversimplification pays no respect to the Rebbe’s tremendous ability to recognize the unique qualities of every individual he advised, nor to his ability to understand and address complex and nuanced issues. 2. How is the act of going to college so horrific that students deserve any tragedy that could possibly befall them? 3. And who are we to say what anyone “deserves?” We all have our paths in life, and it is not up to you to judge the… Read more »
Your comment is worse than college
אזוי רעדט מען נישט אין ליובאוויטש.
Who are you to Judge ? Your lack of ahavas yisroel shows
just how much you don’t follow the Rebbe ‘s advice and teachings .Otherwise you would have better comments!
My comment was not meant to be positive as such but a response to some of the ridiculous comments like 44 that when someone goes missing we can just assume they went for a walk. There have been proven cases that had authorities acted quicker things could have ended positively. When someone acts out of routine it needs to be taken seriously. That’s all I was saying.
Have u got no brains or no sensitivity? weres your ahavas yisroel nebach
would the Rebbe say that?
Your NOT Thinkig possitive
Shock, horror and disgust at the comment number 55 just made! Hard to believe that people can react like that , to what could have been c”v a tragic story; you know no details, therefore DON’T JUDGE!!
when you don’t listen to the rebbes advice and go to college….
not really our business is the girl and the family does NOT want us to know more
if you r really just concerned about the girl, then be happy she is safe, otherwise you are being a yenteh
There have been unfortunately too many cases where grown up people, usually women, go missing or don’t return home only to have their bodies found dumped in a forest or a river somewhere. When people who are supposed to come home don’t , that is unfortunately cause for concern in our times r’l
I live near Stamford Hil and a Lubavitcher. How come we didnot get a text (which we get every time there is something to tell Anash) to say tehillim. BH she is well. BTW I have older daughters and I would be really worried if my daughter didnot come home. I would expect a phone call telling me she was going out. Am I being over protective? I don’t think so.
There is an obvious reason here why the family is not releasing the full name and the full story! Some of you just cant wait to get fresh gussip and somethingvto talk about around the water cooler at work! If a 26 year old woman or mzn for that matter are gone missing and the family is asking for help, isnt it a good enoug reason to understand that they need the help? Isnt it a good enoug reason to think that the best way to help here is to either go and phisically help if you are able to… Read more »
What is wrong with you people who want to know why worry? If a family is worried then that is good enough, BH she is safe and was found
everyone who says these things..,. why do you need to know more? Will it change your avodas hashem? Or is is stam gossip? In today’s instant media world we “need” detials of other peoples tzores? Please… say more tehillim… learn more…d aven more… and keep to your own business.
We were worried, said tehilim…. would be nice to know more.
Main thing is she is good… G-d bless her, and may she get married soon!!!!
Maybe her phone died or she was out with friends or on a date or something, in a class or in a spot with no service! maybe she lost her phone…
But so glad to hear bh she’s ok!! It’s a scary place! Moshich now!!!
because when she never came home last night and also never arrived at college, there is something to be worried about.
Best just to say that she was found safe without any details. There should rarely ever be a reason to print someone’s last name. Even if her family had not been able to get the word out that they want privacy- it should be a given. A difficult story can be made so much worse by people’s curiosity and the general lack of sensitivity for discretion.
were was she??? why are we so worried when a 26 year old isnt in contact for 14 hours. I would assume that that is an age where a person can fend for themselves. Is there something more to the story or are her parents just overprotective??
Thank you for reporting that she was found. I couldn’t sleep, thinking about the last time we went to sleep while someone was missing…. (Shudder) Only good news from now on.
Im glad she is safe now, but why was she missing for so long??
Thank g-d she was found!!! I didn’t know her and have been saying tehillim for the past few hours and been really worried. Where was she? Was she really missing or was she just sleeping at a friend or something? So curious.
chasdi hashem
please keep up updated
With all the tehillim said in her zchus, she should now find her besherte and have many simchas!
The shomrim are not Lubavitch in London, yet when I went in there with my brother-in-law to volunteer to search I felt a hugh flow of Achdus in the room and we we we’re learning a Maamor that night in which the Rebbe was saying that when there is Achdus between yidden it brings achdus between hashem and yidden, and it reveals the etzem of hashem and then you have an abundance of bracha. (in short) We were given the location of the cemetary (25 Min drive) where her sister, who passed away many years ago was buried, we tried… Read more »
You are heartless. You probably kick puppies and step on ants. You are the reason why there is no world peace. Thank God she was found, I hope your plane gets grounded in Oklahoma City and stays there.
