Miracle of the Pregnant Lady

This past Tuesday Chabad Lubavitch of Rockland in New City, NY, hosted a Farbrengen with Rabbi Avrohom Bukiet from Kfar Chabad. With him were Rabbi Wilhelm (Shliach in Eretz Yisroel), and Rabbi Emmer (from Crown Heights).

Rabbi Bukiet shared some inspiring stories, and one of the participants also added his own personal experience with the Rebbe.

He shared stories of the Rebbe and the Frierdiker Rebbe which emphasize the importance of every Jew, and reminding one to always approach life with a positive atitude.

Rabbi Emmer shared a story he saw happen when the Rebbe gave out dollars, where he saw the Rebbe’s Ruach Hakodesh before his eyes.

One of the stories Rabbi Bukiet shared was a personal experience he had shortly after his wife gave birth. In the same room as his wife was another woman, who was in the hospital because she was pregnant, and the doctors were concerned she would be unable to continue the pregnancy due to the fact that she had only one kidney. She had been admitted to the hospital to terminate the pregnancy.

When he heard of the woman’s situation, Rabbi Bukiet asked her if he could write to the Rebbe on her behalf. The woman agreed, and they decided that whatever the Rebbe would say, she would follow.

THe Rebbe answered: “To continue the pregnancy, I will mention it at the Tzion.”

The woman agreed to follow the Rebbe’s advice, but the doctors were very upset. The manager of the hospital (The Rambam hospital in Haifa) came to speak to Rabbi Bukiet to try to convince him out of this “nonsense”, because if the mother kept on the pregnancy, she might chas v’sholom die.

At this point the woman had to switch to Carmel Hospital, because the first hospital did not want to take responsibility for her. There they tested her and came up with the same results. There was no way she would make it through the pregnancy.

Under the new circumtances Rabbi Bukiet wrote to the Rebbe again, and the answer was the same, with an addition of two words: “I already answered…”

One day Rabbi Bukiet recieved a phone call from the manager of Carmel hospital: “Please come to the hospital as soon as possible.” When he got there he saw a celebration going on, which he found out was for the woman who had given birth to a healthy baby boy.

Rabbi Bukiet said to them: “Now you are praising the Rebbe, but what about yesterday? You must alwasys have faith in the Rebbe, especially in the hard times.

After hearing this story the crowd left with a new feeling of what a Rebbe is, and how one must proceed on with life in these trying times.
