Thousands of Shluchim from around the world are arriving in Crown Heights today for the 25th annual International Conference of Chabad-Lubavitch Shluchim.
“There could hardly be a better way to honor this hakhel year than with the International Conference of Chabad-Lubavitch Emissaries,” said Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, conference director and vice chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch, the educational arm of Chabad-Lubavitch.
For six days, attendees will attend sessions on varied topics which range from education, military and police chaplaincy, budgeting and fundraising and community responsibilty.
Part extended family reunion, part morale booster and part business meeting, the conference will spread across five different venues in Crown Heights because of the sheer number of participants.
Throughout the conference, the Rebbe’s office and library will be open to visiting shluchim. In addition, shuttle buses will transport people to the Ohel.
The high point of the convention will be the Sunday night gala banquet, when emissaries will join with supporters and lay leaders at Manhattan’s Pier 94. The banquet’s proceedings will include a special address by former Israeli ambassador Yehuda Avner.
