Singer Mendy Jacobson has released ‘Sim Shalom’ – a music video with a great dance tune, featuring a Chabad backup dance team.
Titled “Sim Shalom”, this song is a revolutionary blend of Classical Heimishe Jewish Music that many continue to love and enjoy, masterfully blended with the musical technicality and styles of today’s music, without compromising on either one.
This music video was filmed at the stunning Highline in New York City, a raised train track that was converted into a beautiful park along the lower west side of Manhattan.
“This was the first time the Highline has ever allowed a video shoot on location,” producer Chananya Begun told COLlive. “The concept of the video is that no matter what type of Jew you are, a seemingly dull or difficult life can always be infused with simcha and happiness, whether through great music, or thinking about all the good we have in life, and that Hashem will ultimately lead us on a path of shalom.”
Any type of music listener will find what to enjoy in this song, as well as the rest of the songs on Mendy’s upcoming album, due out around summer 2013.

it`s a fun video
Great job,……..time for the album.
the song is great, can I have please the lyrics in Hebrew?
Moshe Weissman has sick moves!! He’s an incredible dancer!!
i love it
cool ah
…And would have been nice to see a few brachas being made at the beginning. He took food without permission from both the owner AND Hashem !!
Not being negative, just keep in mind for the next video, make sure to eat and drink and make a clear bracha, also a few cents in a pushkeh and you made a tikkun.
Otherwise very refreshing style, I enjoyed it very much. Whose son is he ? Rabbis Simon or Yossi or another???
Hatzlacha Rabbah !!
If you’re so picky let me tell you something: you say nusachim not nusachos
wow thats amazing great job boys!!!!!!!
the chabad nussach!! thats which one!
The entire week I cannot get this song out of my head! I cant even rememember how many times i watched the video! s/o has to help me i think i just might be addicted…
This video is very powerful and brought a lot of Simcha to my day. May Hashem give you a lot of hatzlacha in your future musical work.
Just watched your video and enjoyed it very much. Keep honing your talent and using it for good!
Do you really think anyone cares if they don’t spell “you’re” right?
such a powerful voice….wow…hatzlacha rabba. and #80- maybe he isnt saying uverachamim but saying uuuu as a sound effect??? stop being so quick to criticize
the first time i ever listened to mendy J was today and i think he’s awesome!!!!!!
You’re the best!!!
Mendy i am so proud of you,
you are giving me such beautiful Nachas
and you have made the sadness leave from me
your wonderful mother (mommy)
Vichesed? VAchesed!
“U”-VE-rachamim? VE – rachamim!
I searched all nusachos, don’t know where you pulled that from.
Go back to the studio, fix it up, then try selling.
Hatzlacha!
Mamash!
you rock i love your voice
good, ok, nice video
comments are for commenting on the video, not on other people. Everyone is entitled to their own oppinion, you cant change the way they think…
Keep up the good work mendy!
I personally really liked it!! It’s the first time I hear this singer and he’s great! I love the song and he has an amazing voice!!
ur one awesome dancer 🙂 keep on dancing!
the one without the long beard…they say he used to be a big dancer before he became frum
Which one is Moshe Weissman?? the chabad one with the long beard.. or the one that doesn’t have such a beard .. 😛 for a lack of better way to put it
Mendy j is the future.
he comes from a good home and has chasidesher blood running through his veins. His “admired” late father would be proud. Keep up the good work.
If everyone realized he didn’t make a bracha that’s really sad I watched it like 4 times and didn’t realize it I’m not looking for the bad in the video but u guys seem to be
We really needed some good music like this. the singing is awesome the dancers are great and the whole vibe is very very nice. I’m looking forward to hearing more songs
i luv him!!!!! hes sucha good dancer!!
love it
i met him dancing at a wedding his name is moshe weissman. hes great!
Don’t know who he is but the dancer with the gray sneakers sure can move!!! May he use his talents only for good!
For starters he did say a Brocha at least on the Danish/Bread so you might want to watch the video again before you say stupid things. Regarding the coke 1) it could have been empty 2) maybe the Danish/bread was Hamotzi.
The best part is when they are sitting around the table.
that guy sure knows how to dance and is Chabad??! its so nice to see that he has a beard and tzitis – it shows one can be frum and not shave/trim plus be cool enuf for music video
So happy to see a place for the dancers among us. Wish i could have seen them more.
#12 – maybe this is the way to use those skills properly
What good music B”H. Mendy J. is aidel, beautiful voice, and respectable/respectful. Just what we need. Can’t wait to go to Miami Boys Choir concert Chol Hamoed and hear him again.
So that we can all download it 😉
I love this song!! Moshe Weissman has great moves!
Hi, I’ve heard sim shalom sung by many artist (non Lubavitch too) but never heard “uv’rachamim”, which nussach is that?
DSW ROCKS!!! You’re the best part of the video!!!!!
Keep it up!!!! Beautiful voice.
Nice job, seems life alot of energy and time has been invested here.
A little constructive criticism: The meaning of this prayer and its words dont match the message of the video clip. Maybe adapt some other words relating to AHAVAS ACHIM etc….
And hey its : Sim sholoim toivoh uvrochoh, chaim, chein, vochesed, verachamim.
>>> VE – rachamim<<<. not "U"-VE-rachamim as sung. Or was it kind of a suave "ooooh" verachamim? The difference is that we are asking Hashem to "place Peace, Goodness and Blessing, Life, Grace and Mercy on us..." UVE-rachamim = >>and Mercy<< which would mean "and WITH mercy" which doesnt sit well in the prayer context. Chazak Ve'ematz and much Hatzlocho!
#32 the words fit really well its a matter of taste not of anything else.
Wow mendy you’re amazing you sound great!!love your voice!
And the dancer with beard and black tie…. Omg guy you’re awesome!!!!! You dance so freakin’ good!!!
Thanks for sharing with us
I know the whole family! the boys and the girls they are each amazing amazing children!!!! real examples to learn from! they are all such good hearted people who do soo much chesed for others! they are the best of the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You got talent.great clip and keep going waiting to hear another great song of yours
Taken away by his by his talent
Saying a brocho before you take a bite or a sip isn’t just for mitzvo blvd. In this case, regardless of a brocho was made before the set, it wasn’t made ON the set. It’s about being a dugmo chayo of Torah and mitzvos to the many people that look up to him as a role model.
This song is great! I love music with a great beat and a beautiful meaning to it 🙂 Also every single one of those dancers, have AMZING talent! Wow!!!
Mendy J. sick stuff!
Note to DP: If your shooting with a prime lens keep in mind the video will not be stable so dont walk around too much while shooting, otherwise great video!
The singing, the dancing, the music, all amazing! Where can I hear more?
I’m trying to put this orthodox religion into prospective…let’s not pick and choose but is not saying a brocha before we eat any worse than some of these negative comments does god think ure,a saint one minute and the next ure speaking wrongly cmon guys is this for real
The Jacobsons continue to rule!!!
Is that little kid Dovid S Wiener? So cute
This song is beautiful! Me being a non Lubavitcher myself I know that the words are from a non Lubavitcher sidur! People, stop being so close minded and appreciate the beauty of this song.
haters go find something better to do
Tomer Weingarten has some sick moves. Hes the best part of this video. Also, just a note, its Funny how they have the atheist sign in background.
Please learn how to spell before you make nasty comments to anonymous people. When you misspell “you’re” it just takes all the ‘umph’ out of the insult.
Who’s the little kid dancing ? So cute
it was awesome . whats your problem your so negative
cant wait to see you in concert!
Who do we call?
good vois
Amazing song and video!!
Well done bro!!
To #2 keep those nasty comments to yourself .Mendy J I really enjoyed your video
“Grant peace everywhere goodness and blessing, Grace, lovingkindness and mercy to us and unto all Israel, Your people. Bless us, our Father, all of us as one with the light of Your face; For by the light of Your face You have given us, Hashem our God, The Torah of life, and love of kindness, and righteousness and blessing and mercy and life and peace; And may it be good in Your eyes to bless Your people Israel at all times and in every hour with Your peace. Praised are You, Hashem, who blesses Your people Israel with peace.” I… Read more »
whats about the brocha on danish or the drink

I can”t stop watching this video! It’s amazing cool fun full of happiness very professional and a really great catchy song! mendy you have a beautiful voice! I am sure your father is watching this video and is shepping nachas and is smiling……may you always make people happy with your great voice!!!!
To my little brother, u should be so proud of urself……love the song.
ur freakin ausome
I’m having a hard time getting the actual vibe of the song as a musical piece. I would have liked to hear more of the singer’s range and other vocal abilities.
Me and my children just watched it and we all really enjoyed it! Do you have any CD’s that we could purchase?
The singer did a great job and sounds very good! Keep it up and I hope to see more videos in the future
You are great!!
kol hakavod ys
araibi
1) The words are often sung wrongly. 2) The dancing is not Chabad. 3) The clothing and some of the beards are inconsistent with Chabad. Not sure where the “Simcha” element is, either.
Mendy… you blew me away u hit this one out of the park! (the Highline lol) this video is amazing i’m really impressed at the professionalism of how it was done great job to chananya and the dancers u guys are amazing! I”m sure this is gonna be your big hit mendy your very talented and you deserve it! Hatzlacha!
There’s a yellow sign in the background that says ‘stop praying… G-ds not going to find you a parking spot’
What’s that’s supposed to mean?
Keep up the grt work!
tomer good to see you!
With the exception of Benny’s yesh tikva, there really aren’t any music videos that literally show and capture that dimension of infusing simcha into our everyday lives. I personally have found that in real life scenarios niggunim have helped me a lot more, but everyone’s different.
Tzvi Great Job on the video editing
Love the music! and his voice!
go mendy!
One of those guys is got some serious dancing skills. How can he translate his gift to properly reflect a chassid?
He OBVIOUSLY made a brocho before recording. Stop being such horrible, negative, pessimistic critics. It’s a music video, for goodness sake. Not Mitzvah Blvd.
וברחמים???
Zevi Stern
mendy j is the single most amazingly talented singer to ever emerge from the jewish people!
you’re now a role model. take it seriously.
There’s very little “Jewish” in Jewish music. In a song titled sim sholoim toivoh “uvrocho”, it would have been nice to have seen a brocho being made in the beginning of the video where the signer bites into the pita and takes a sip of coke.
Good Luck
from racheim to sim shalom
Mendy J! ur awesome
I’ve been waiting for years for this kind of music!
Mendy is the next Jewish music star. Trust me he’s gonna make it #1!!
DID I JUST SEE RIGHT? 3 WHOLEEEEE TIMES. Ok… just askin.. all ok wif you? whatever… fine! kay…
loved it! just listened to it three times! 🙂
