Mrs. Rochel Kaplan, a Shlucha in Maryland, has recently published her second book, “Triumph of Truth,” which addresses struggles and challenges with uplifting poetic messages.
Rochel and her husband, Rabbi Shmuel Kaplan, have served as Head Shluchim in Maryland for over 40 years. She is also the founder and director of the Aleph Learning Institute and director of Mikvah Mei Menachem of Baltimore, the latter of which is designed for Jewish brides and married women.
Asked about the inspiration to write poetry, Kaplan says, “I guess you can say the Almighty put the ‘pen’ into my hand, and my knowledge, life experiences and challenges became the script.”
“I feel that I have a message I would like to impart along the path I was sent to share, what I’ve gleaned and learned, and the inferences I managed to tease out.”
Her new book, ‘Triumph of Truth: Poetic Words to Express and Empower When You Are Speechless,’ is an illustrated book of poems that serves to address the many challenges and struggles we humans call ‘Life.’ Rochel uniquely communicates through poetic expression, drawing from her own experiences and from Torah and Chassidic sources.
Through a lens of positivity, humor, laughter, and soul-power vitality, Rochel empowers you to dig deeper, see broader and farther, and use self-help to triumph above and beyond.
“When speechless, it is imperative to demand of oneself to be your own advocate and rely on what’s built in. The Almighty does not hand us that which we cannot handle,” Kaplan says.
Kaplan sees her writings, including her first book published in 2020 “G-d in the Details,” as part of her Shlichus in Maryland.
“I care to share to hopefully uplift, support, and empower others. In fact, these writings have done so for myself, as the Rebbe once instructed a Rabbi and psychologist in Maryland to self-talk,” she says.
