Tonight, 9PM, please join Rabbi Simon Jacobson as he teaches a text-based class in the Sicha of Shabbos Parshas Vayikra 5747 (Sefer HaSichos 5747 Volume 1, p. 370-379. In Hebrew: Likkutei Sichos Volume 32, Sicha on Nissan, p 19-28), and applied to today’s challenges. PDF of the sicha: https://bit.ly/2JgK1uo or at: chassidusapplied.com/eternity.
What is unique about the first days of Nissan? Why do we commemorate the dedication offerings of the tribal leaders when the Mishkan was erected? What connection do we have to these leaders, and how does that live on and impact us and our families for eternity?
What did the Rebbe Rashab mean when he said before his histalkus 100 years ago: “I am going to heaven; the writings I leave you”? What amazing story did the Frierdiker Rebbe tell in his first discourse delivered and written a century ago upon his assuming the nesius (leadership)?
In a rare and fascinating sicha, delivered Shabbos Parshas Vayikra 5747/1987, the Rebbe explains that the first days of Nissan are unique in their expression of the generation’s leaders eternity and their eternal connection with the people connected with them. This eternal connection manifests in the physical world — in the writings, books, and even furniture and instruments of the Rebbeim. We are charged with actualizing and perpetuating this immortality in our personal lives and homes today.
This sicha was so special that the Rebbe instructed it be translated and published in the weekly Likkutei Sichos series of that week, and he added an unprecedented compliment on the sicha: הגדילו לעשות (it was done great).
