Rabbi Chaim Brikman and Rabbi Pinny Marozov, the Shluchim to the Brooklyn areas of Sea Gate and Coney Island, came across a precious document.
They have recently discovered a letter, dated 14 Elul 5692 (1931), which the Frierdiker Rebbe wrote to “Cong. Agudas Chabad of Coney Island.”
Sent from Riga, Latvia, where Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Schneersohn was at the time, it blesses members of the shul for a “good and sweet year materially and spiritually.”
Excited over the finding, Rabbis Brikman and Marozov said they “felt it would be most appropriate to print a Tanya on that location.”
So, on Sunday, Yud Tes Elul, a truck was rented, a printer brought in and a new edition of the Tanya was printed on that location.
