A new middos program was launched for the Cheder Chabad boys, focusing on the middah of derech eretz – showing respect.
Each boy filled out an application to receive a “MiddosCard” credit card. Each grade went to the 4th grade classroom to hand in their applications and wait for “approval.”
After everyone received their cards, principal Rabbi Avrohom Wolowik spoke to each class about different ways to improve in having respect for others.
The program will focus on speaking respectfully to others, i.e. saying please and thank you, and the proper way to speak or ask a question to a teacher, principal, or other staff member.
When the children excel in their derech eretz, both to their teachers and amongst each other, they can earn Middos Money. For every ten dollars of Middos Money they earn, they can cash in their dollars and receive a special punch on their MiddosCard. At the end of the program, the boys will be able to purchase prizes using their credit card.
