A group of law students and young attorneys gathered last Motzei Shabbos at Chabad of Southside for a seminar titled “Succeeding in Law School and Surviving the Job Market.”
The well attended event represents a new avenue of service Chabad of Southside has embarked upon.
“Year after year we work with students as they make their way through school, offering classes, Shabbat and holiday meals and sense of family away from home,” said Rabbi Shmuli Novack, Director Chabad of Southside. “With the job market the way it is, and especially the legal job arena which is surprisingly challenging, we decided to take steps to help our students find the sometimes elusive success.”
Free of charge and open to the public, the seminar was chaired by Florida Coastal School of Law graduate Menachem Lieberman, Partner at Levey, Lieberman and Associates, LLP in Miami and was addressed by Andrew H. Sauer, M.D. of Smith Hulsey & Busey and Shachar Spiegel of The DeVries Law Firm.
The speakers shared insights and strategies on succeeding in law school and provided some key advice on navigating the challenging job market.
Following the presentation and Q&A, participants had an opportunity to speak one-on-one with the panelists to discuss their personal goals and strategies.
“This was truly an outstanding idea,” said participant and Florida Coastal Graduate Joshua Abraham. “I only wish this was offfered when I was a 1L law student, some times the most basic solutions are the hardest to discover.”
The event was co-sponsored by Florida Coastal School of Law and the Jacksonville Jewish Business Network.
