LA Girls Visit the Homeless

The girls in Camp Gan Israel of Los Angeles & Beverly Hills know what it means to give back.

With over 150 campers, a main focus this year is to use the girls’ energy for making the world a better place and learn to take a step back and pay attention to the world around them.

A SOVA Food drive, Urban Farming Garden, recycling, sending cards to the Children’s Hospital are some of the projects they have done together.

For the past few weeks, the campers brought in shampoos, conditioners and soaps for the Hygiene Drive.

On Thursday, the girls hand-delivered these hygiene items to homeless women in the Downtown Women’s Center of Los Angeles. The campers were given a tour of the building and saw firsthand how homeless women are given a place to call their own.

“We pride ourselves by not only teaching the children about mitzvos but actually doing them in action,” the staff said.
