Nechama Shaki, wife of the late Knesset Minister Avner Shaki, will be a guest speaker at the 54th Nshei chabad Convention hosted by the Toronto Shluchos.
Nechama will address the guests and delegates at the Gala Luncheon on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 15th, preceded by a heartwarming video of Nechama Shaki and the Rebbe.
Avner Shaki, a Knesset Minister and Israeli politician, famously voted “No” in the election to pass the law of “Mi Hu Yehudi” at the Rebbe’s request.
Mrs. Shaki will inspire convention participants with the story of her husband’s visit with the Rebbe and his courage to vote against the tide.
“Toronto is thrilled to welcome Nechama Shaki straight from Eretz Yisroel,” said Shlucha Goldie Plotkin, one of the convention organizers.
The convention will take place on Rosh Chodesh Kislev-Kislev 3, 5776, Nov 13-15, 2015.
The Rebbe has given his blessings to these conventions since their inception in 1962.
The exciting program includes world renowned presenters, including scholar-in-residence Rabbi Yosef Y. Jacobson, Rabbi Mendel Kaplan, Miryam Swerdlov, Goldie Plotkin, Sara Chana Radcliffe, and many more.
Participants will enjoy inspirational workshops on a wide variety of topics, fine dining, beautiful boutiques and spa options, at the luxurious Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre and Spa.
