A prominent Kinus Torah was held recently in Yeshivas Lubavitch Manchester. The Beis Hamedrash was packed with an audience of Rabbonim, Baal Habatim and Bochurim, who sat through hours of interesting and in-depth Torah study.
Rabbi Mendel Cohen chaired the Kinus, adding stories, anecdotes and divrei hisoirirus.
The evening began with an insight into Gemarah Soita which is being learned now by many, from Horav Yosef Y. Yarmush from the Kol Menachem institute.
Dayan Berger of the Manchester Beis Din spoke about Sefiras Homer and what the definition of this special mitzvah is. The Dayan then moved on to divrei hisoirirus and Chizuk praising Chabad Lubavitch as being the mamshichei derech of the Baal Shem Hakodoish.
Rabbi Moishe Wolberg, a Magid Shiur at the Yeshiva, clarified the definition of Afikoman according to the different opinions and the different application of the mitzvah.
Rabbi Yosef Schmukler, a Magid Shiur at the Kollel in Manhattan spoke about the concept of Tevilas Keilim and Hagolas Keilim.
World renowned Dayan Osher Westheim looked into the different opinions of what the Chilozon is and if it was a kosher item, among many other inyonei drush.
Rabbi Yossi Chazan, combined drush halocho and pilpul to give a deeper understanding as to the minhag to eat 2 kezeysim for the afikoman.
The Kinus Torah was the culmination of many activities that were held during the month of Nissan in Manchester, including distribution of Matzah, Mivtzoim for the 11th of Nissan, a birchas hachama ceremony attended by over 250 people, 4 large Pesach seders, Tahalucha on Yom Tov, and various study programs.
