Launched in the beginning of November with the goal of showcasing a line-up of Jewish business professionals and entrepreneurs sharing their challenges and successes in an audio storytelling format, the CHYE / COLlive K-Factor Podcast has gained a large following.
“We want young people in our community to think big and outside the box,” explained CHYE’s Rabbi Yehoshua Werde, host of the podcast. “Our guests are people just like you, they went through the system, harnessed their natural talents and did not let any obstacle stand in their way of making things happen.”
With a trademark authentic and down-to-earth style, business owners share how they navigated their transition into the business world, their struggles and successes and how they stand firm with their Jewish values. Interviews have run the gamut of the business experience from retail and food joints to online and tech ventures, from small business startups to corporate America.
“It is incredible the amount of talent our community has, we have leading businesses in every category of the business sector, we have top people in every major corporate company and we have many trendsetting young people working on ambitious startups. It is the mission of this podcast to capture their stories and share them with the greater public,” Werde says.
Mica Soffer, Publisher of COLlive.com, said: “If you are looking for business guidance, look no further than members of our own community who have years of hard-earned experience. This podcast will make that valuable knowledge accessible to everyone.”
Feedback has been tremendous, with emails like this one flooding CHYE’s inbox. “Hey Rabbi, I have to say that I really appreciate the weekly podcast. It’s something I look forward to every Sunday. Great work.”

But I had more optimism and resourcefulness. I rose through the ranks, to the point that my superiors lied about me having a college education to the board because I was so good at my job, they… Read more »
