In 1950, one of the Rebbe’s first acts at the beginning of his leadership was to establish Nshei U’bnos Chabad.
Its core purpose: to empower women and girls as Lamplighters, to positively impact their close surroundings and far beyond.
A chassid is a Lamplighter. Actually, the Jewish woman is the original Lamplighter. As the Rebbe points out, a Jewish woman is the first to light up the soul of the Jewish child. She nurtures that tender flame until the little one can kindle it on their own.
Classes and inspiring Farbrengens are held within the community during all chasidishe days throughout the year.
Weekly Mivtzoyim/outreach stands brimming with brochures and Shabbos candles at supermarkets, boardwalks, and street corners.
Building Jewish libraries, electric Shabbos candelabras, fireproof boxes for Menorahs, virtual holiday video programs, Shmura Matza etc. were sent to over 40 nursing homes and facilities during the lockdown and after.
Nshei Ubnos Chabad members joyously channel the light of Torah throughout the world.
