Organizers of the National Jewish Retreat announced that they will be returning to the stunning JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort in Palm Springs, California for the second consecutive year.
“Last year was one of our best experiences in eleven years of the Retreat.” said Rabbi Hesh Epstein, chairman of the National Jewish Retreat. “The luxurious resort and its incomparable service staff were a big part of that success. We look forward to retreat guests enjoying their hospitality for one more year. Our staff is hard at work building on last year’s success with a fresh, expanded program to exceed all expectations.”
The Palm Springs location made the Retreat more accessible to many Californians who had no idea what they were missing out on. Participants from the East Coast found the breathtaking views and luxurious comforts well worth the trip.
The Retreat brings together leading Rabbis, academics, community leaders and artists to lead more than 150 seminars, workshops and lectures for five days of stimulating Jewish learning. Sessions include Jewish philosophy, law, ethics, mysticism and history.
“It was kind of like pushing open the door to the attic of your family,” says Dr. Jim Simon, an anesthesiologist from Wayne, PA. “I never dreamed how large my family really was in a spiritual sense. Everywhere I turned, there was something new and exciting to learn. I don’t think I had an appreciation for how much broader my own history was. The hardest part was deciding which session to go to next.”
The Retreat will take place August 8-13, 2017 / 16-21, Av 5777 Bez”H. For more information visit www.jretreat.com or email info@jretreat.com
