Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky announced that JLI, the adult education arm of Chabad Lubavitch, will now be launching in Germany, joining more than 350 branches worldwide with more than a quarter million students.
“We are delighted about this expansion that promises to broaden the horizons of German Jewry,” said Rabbi Kotlarsky, “thanks to the Rohr family’s vision and investment and the tireless, combined efforts of the shluchim in Germany and the staff at JLI Central.”
Rabbi Yisroel Diskin, regional director of Chabad Lubavitch in Germany, in conjunction with Berlin’s Director of Chabad, Rabbi Yehuda Teichtel who piloted the courses last year, have been working with staff at JLI over the past to translate all course and marketing materials into German. Phase one in Germany will include affiliates in Berlin, taught by Rabbi Yehuda Tiechtel; in Munich by Rabbi Yochanan Gordon and in Cologne by Rabbi Mendel Schtroks, with plans to expand over the coming year in Hamburg, Hanover and Dresden.
The initial courses selected for translation were, “Toward a Meaningful Life,” which is based on the bestselling book of the same title by Rabbi Simon Jacobson, and JLI’s acclaimed legal ethics series, “You be the Judge.”
In a country which reached the lowest level of depravity and inhumanity, specifically in their murderous treatment of am Yisroel, today Torah and yiddishkeit is being taught and strengthened. This is our victory. The shluchim, working endlessly with greatest devotion, and of course, the Rebbes brooches have created this reality kol hakoved to the shluchim who invested so much time in this project.
Yehuda, and all your family, you don’t cease to amaze us! Every day a new project, a new idea, launched. Each of you, following your parents great leadership.
