A Jewish teen was confronted by a perpetrator who tried to rob him in broad daylight on Shabbos afternoon in Crown Heights.
The incident occurred near Brooklyn Ave and Carroll Street at approximately 12:30PM when the perpetrator, who was riding a bicycle, confronted and blocked his victim. He began to threaten and demand money from the victim while physically opening his jacket and checking his pockets.
This is not an isolated incident, as the same perpetrator attempted to assault another individual earlier and had subsequent interactions with more victims.
The suspect is described as a black male, wearing a ski mask, white gloves and a blue backpack. He was riding a bicycle.
The victim contacted Crown Heights Shmira and filed a police report.
If you have any information or you’re a victim of his crime spree, please call Shmira at 718-221-0303.

At least they would know when not to try to rob people. And then, if the crime rate goes down on Shabbos, everyone will know where the perps are… Read more »
to assume people who live here know the laws of shabbas is incorrect. They have no idea until a neighbor reaches out, says hello and then maybe it may come up.
