American airline JetBlue on Sunday announced it is changing its onboard maps on all carriers, to comply with U.S. guidelines for the Middle East, after Israel was labeled there as “Palestinian Territories.”
The airline received complaints about the label and said they were not aware of it beforehand.
In a message to Ynet, the company said its mission and values are that customers feel welcome and safe onboard.
“We’re sorry for the concern this has caused. We can assure you that no one on the JetBlue team was involved with drawing or labeling the map of the region and we were not previously aware of the issue.”
In May, a passenger reported an antisemitic incident on a JetBlue flight, after he was accused of ‘causing a disturbance’ when he objected to a flight attendant’s Palestine flag pin.
The airline later apologized and and changed a longstanding policy due to the public outcry.
I’m wondering who the owner of this airline is since too many funny stories against Jews have been happening there.
It’s important that people have clearly made a ruckus about this but I’d now put my money elsewhere.
How can they not be aware what they’ve put there, seriously?
Age old boycotts or simply book on airlines etc that don’t make these obvious stupid mistakes, can give a clear, peaceful message.
How many people do you know actually look at the flight maps?
Not me
Amazingly, Princess cruises showed Israel as “Palestine” last summer – despite the company being founded by an Israeli and being run by his son! Shameful.
Shame on you Jet Blue. The Land is called Israel. Always Has been and
Always will be. I will not Fly JET Blue,
