Israel’s Ashkenazic Chief Rabbi David Lau has led a short tour of Jewish institutions in Paris and its suburbs, immediately following the holiday of Shavuos.
During this tour, Rabbi Lau aimed to highlight the profound significance of Torah study and its direct impact on the daily lives of individuals.
Rabbi Lau was invited by the Lema’an Yilmadu program, which teaches and ordains community members in areas of practical halacha for conducting a Jewish home. Recognizing the importance of this initiative, Rabbi Lau gladly accepted the invitation and set out on this enlightening journey.
Accompanying him were Rabbi Shalom Atal of the “Lema’an Yilmadu” Department for French speakers, Rabbi Mordechai Edry of “Lema’an Yilmadu” in France, and Dayan Rabbi Yaakov Habib.
As part of the tour, Rabbi Lau visited the historic Yeshiva Tomchei Tmimim Lubavitch in the picturesque commune of Brunoy. Welcoming him were the Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Yechiel Kalmenson, staff and bochurim.
Rabbi Lau was honored with presenting a shiur kloli to the students, following the instruction of the Rebbe to hold Torah learning gatherings on Isru Chag (the day after a holiday).
