Welcome to Monday Torah, a weekly internet class with Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Jacobson, spiritual leader of Congregation Bais Shmuel in Crown Heights and a world renowned speaker and teacher.
This week’s class focuses on a fascinating question. Both Avraham and Yitzchak give the same city the same name Beer Sheva. But one name lasts; the other does not. Why?
One was named to commemorate a political alliance; the other was named so because of internal spiritual work. We are exposed here to the radical difference between public relation buffs who just need to impress everybody, and people who have a real, authentic cause.
The Monday evening class is aired weekly on TheYeshiva.net and on COLlive.com.
Beautiful ending especially, although all was very good. Thanks for making parsha relevant and uplifting.
Myself and other listeners are really appreciative of the Shiurim provided through theYeshiva.net.
We hope to see the lineup of the other speakers (Rabbis Weinberg, Braun, etc) also increase further as was done in the previous year.
