I always wondered if someone had never had a pidyon haben was he still obligated to have it done. Now you answered my question. Never saw this done in crown hts for any adults who hadnt been redeemed at 30 days

In 1973 , in College Park, Maryland,my husband and I,who were baalei tshuva, had our first child – a boy. We were told by the Lubavitch shaliach at the University of Maryland, Moshe Silverman,(who mekareved multitudes of students) that we needed to make a pidyon haben for him. My father had a friend who was a Cohen, and asked him to officiate.
