Over 80 businesses were on display at the Crown Heights Young Entrepreneurs – CHYE in partnership with COLlive.com first-ever Chosen Business Conference, a premium business expo for B2B (Business-to-Business) Service companies, in Crown Heights on Sunday.
The energy at the Razag Hall was high, as hundreds of business owners and potential clients mingled and networked with fellow entrepreneurs and providers of goods and services.
The conference brought together Lubavitch-owned and run companies that provide services to other businesses, such as marketing, virtual assistance, law firms, fractional CFOs, accountants, creatives and other B2B service businesses.
During the event, the annual Small Business Excellence Awards were given, celebrating the businesses, entrepreneurs, and inspirational figures within the Crown Heights business industry.
Receiving awards were: Yankie Teitelbaum and Bracha Torenheim – Emerging Business Award, Mrs. Rochie Sufrin of Little Toes – sustained growth, professionalism and excellence in service, Michel Raskin obm of Raskin’s Fruit – outstanding contribution to the local economy as the most senior store on Kingston Ave., Shmuel Malamud of IGPC – Impact Award for outstanding business leadership, and Shmuly Goldman, Director, Enterprise Accounts at B&H Photo Video – Leadership Award.
“The goal of the expo was not only to be educational and inspiring, but a real business generator for the attendees,” said Yehoshua Werde, founder of CHYE. “The expo is the largest event CHYE has organized to date,” he said.
“The Chosen Business Conference is building on our last 10 years of supporting businesses in the community,” explained Yehoshua Werde. “Now, we’re taking it to the next level.”
The Chosen Business Conference was borne out of the idea that “Business begins in the shCHuna.” The conference is expected to replicate the successful expos and large events CHYE has previously held outside Crown Heights, with the aim of bringing people together to find opportunities in their own backyard.
