star k has recently come out with a more accurate way to catch the bugs , they use a nylon cloth that,s pretty much like a filter and the water is poured over that cloth , and the cloth gets checked , when checking the water , the water moves and even if u use a loop it,s still hard to see which is not the case with the cloth
1) Warm water ( baby bath temp) with the soap * or other surfactant) provides an isotonic reaction if the bug is alive to further encourage release of the grip on the leaf. Cold water,vinegar or salt does the opposite. 2) A white bowl works,or light box works well. The water on the leaves should be shaken off the leaves well back into the water after the warm bath. 3) Instead of a colander or strainer, place an old white t-shirt may be placed over a bowl and then check the shirt in sunlight.. 4)The final rinse should be done… Read more »
