Fantastic!

Now people don’t need to stay is disgusting overpriced basements or shlep to Boro Park or Willy hotels.
It’s about time.

Just curious...where Chabad investments in CH ?
July 7, 2016 12:47 am

why our wealthy people not buying everything available here first ?
I’m happy that Willy knows how to make money and support their community …. We need to learn from it ….
Instead of collecting $ for chinuh, collect $ to buy property , rent it for cheap and all CH will be able to afford everything& constantly…..:

great news

Can’t understand any negativity about this. Really, folks, please wake up and live in the real world. If your kids are into bars, they are going into Manhattan and enjoying the nightlife there, so it’s not like this hotel is going to expose them to anything not widely available anywhere in NYC. On the other hand, the positive opportunities that a hotel will bring are potentially enormous. Why people don’t look at the bright side and try to think positive is beyond me to understand.

why couldn’t a Labavitcher man think of building a hotel first, and now a lot of people are complaining that this person comes here and they might ruin the community, and goyim might be staying there, if a person needs somewhere to stay he can stay wherever he wants it doesn’t matter if he is a goy or not

LISTEN TO THIS
July 6, 2016 6:33 pm

you want to hold your kids wedding where there is half naked goyim on a rooftop bar???????????
ITS US OR THEM !!! This developer cant expect best of both worlds. and WE COMPROMISE ON STANDARDS. you want yidden , then no bar.
!!!!!!!

Has a satmar owned hotel. All food is kosher a plenty of goyim stay there.

There is a desperate need for more wedding halls in Crown Heights.
July 6, 2016 3:01 pm

There is a desperate need for more wedding halls in Crown Heights. I ask anyone who knows this developer to urge him to really make the kitchen Kosher (on our standards) and to make a very large hall. Our community is in desperate need of a new hall so Chasanim and Kallas do not have to extend their engagement or decide their wedding date based on hall availability which causes many problems. I think that the developer might have other plans, but when the hall is actually open it will be booked by members of our community every night that… Read more »

33 but it is not made by a lubavitcher
July 6, 2016 1:58 pm

They will do what they will do. Your job is to use it as an opportunity to create light, just as many people used the state of israel as an opportunity to build more yeshivas and reach out to more Jews

It’s getting harder to raise kids here. This madness would not happen in williamsburg. They don’t allow bars or yuppies in tgere dales amos. Here is hefker. These chasidim that ruin another shechuna by bringing pritzus should be taken to din torah!!!# it’s not a laughing matter. The ramifications of this are bad. Less affordable housing, more yuppies and a bar. I don’t see a lot of good coming out of this. Cut the bar if you care about ch yidden

What is your point?
No one disagrees with the statement you made
How is it relevant to the discussion?

July 6, 2016 12:37 pm

That’s the problem.
The solution is to follow the Rebbe’s instructions of 1969-72
that according to Halacha you are Not allowed to weaken a Yiddishe Shechuna by these acts. Do real estate elsewhere and rent sell build to whomever and for whatever you want. But don’t destroy the jewish fabric of this neighborhood. Is Halacha politically correct is not the issue, Halacha and torah is what makes us who we are if it’s Mishpotim or Chukim, comfortable or not, money making or not. Start acting as Yidden did we mention Chassidim how much more so Lubavitcher Chassidim.

July 6, 2016 12:14 pm

you like to blame Willaimsburg etc, but you have no problem with anash boys and girls attending mixed colleges, with Rebbe’s shluchim participating in cooking contests, or with poor funding of the shechuna’s kolel.

eshel
July 6, 2016 12:10 pm

I stayed in Eshel and it was ok- except for when it is so booked that there is never a room available and the times there was no hot water.Overall it was fine.Definitely need another hotel.

Eshel isn't a hotel
July 6, 2016 11:06 am

If you want a good night sleep DO NOT BOOK AT ESHEL! They have thin walls and you can hear everything from next room. It’s more like a boarding house for Israelis. Great idea for ch! What does this have to do with the chinuch of your children?!?? If you don’t like what your kids see in ch I suggest you move to somewhere else. Here are my suggestions: new square, NY Lancaster, PA (Amish village) or a Mormon compound out west. If you truly feel you can’t raise chasidish kids in ch you’ll have to move else where. How so is the Shechuna being spoilt by young families of some financial means and education being able to reside in a Heimisher Area?
It really smacks of jealousy. You don’t want to assert yourself , you don’t want to better yourself, you don’t want a more stable YIDDISHER, life for your families and begrudge those who do and are actively pursuing activities to facilitate such results
Sad really
There are real chassidisher guys who have taken trouble to obtain professional degrees and training and are engaged in professions which facilitate decent remuneration. Kudos to them Shame to you !

but of course..
July 6, 2016 8:55 am

of course it will be for the goyim who frequent bars on franklin Ave, etc..kosher hall? are you kidding? this will not be for CH’ers…..

Options...
July 6, 2016 5:21 am

Only because it’s someone else’s idea & money and it’s actually happening that people feel the need to bash it.
As much as there is hachnasas orchim going on, there’s plenty room for competition in CH too for those that can afford to spend the money and would like the privacy and comfort of being in a hotel room/suite when they visit.

we have one already
July 6, 2016 4:18 am

CH has a hotel ESHEL!!

How far
July 6, 2016 2:17 am

Is it from 770?

Yuppies 1384 Carroll Street Heart of Crown Heights
July 6, 2016 1:01 am

There are many yuppies in the building on Carroll and Kingston. This building is owned by our very own Lubavitcher yungerleit. I’ll spare their names, but let’s not complain about others making hotels on the outskirts of crown heights when our own Lubavitchers put yuppies ok Carroll and Kingston just to make a few extra dollars. How dare they call themselves Lubavitchers when the Rebbe begged for Kan Tzivah Hashem Es Habrocho. Our very own are RUINING our neighborhood just to line their pockets.

PART OF THE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
July 6, 2016 1:00 am

Is this one of the main reasons why all of a sudden A EIRUV IS NEEDED in Crown Heights?…

This is great!
July 6, 2016 12:20 am

Another wedding hall and places for guests to stay! Cant wait for it to be up and running!

Great idea
July 5, 2016 11:03 pm

Ch needs a hotel. Relatives and visitors can visit in comfort & not cram up our overloaded crammed space. The guests and relatives can benefit. All gain.

It will definitely cost more
July 5, 2016 10:37 pm

Than what a typical Shliach can afford. A good way for Williamsburg to make money.

Stop placing blame!!
July 5, 2016 10:24 pm

Never understand why anyone complains when developments come to ch. if you don’t like the way things are being done- then do it differently- sitting on your couch and blaming the willi developer for ruining your child, just sounds pathetic and immature. please don’t compare ch to willi. In willi they are a community with rules and standards – here in ch the world “rule” is a 4 letter word and the word community doesn’t exist.

July 5, 2016 10:15 pm

Need I remind you that many folks would rather stay in a ‘yuppie’ hotel than a mismanaged frum one. #freeworld

amazing
July 5, 2016 9:53 pm

another way to ruin crown heights, More bars and nonsense for our kids. Why cant lubavithchers get their act together and keep this place for ourselves instead of being a yuppie hole for developers.

July 5, 2016 9:13 pm

How exactly are they ruining our children?

Mazel tov
July 5, 2016 8:58 pm

I wish them much hatzlacha…will make ch more hospitable to all those from all over

Umm confused out of towner
July 5, 2016 8:56 pm

How is this a bad thing? I always see post of ch’ers dreading out of towners and hosting. This solves the problem. Now we can stay at a hotel, like any city we vacation in, without burdening you and having to beg for a place to stay. It maybe overpriced, but so is any vacation destination. Face it. That is what ch is. It’s not a bad thing. Yes ch’ers rent their basements out for tourists and jack up the price around yom tov. I had to fly in for a simcha around yom tov and was going to rent… Read more »

Another Chasuna hall!!! so it won’t have to so hard to get a wedding date!!

Are you kidding?
July 5, 2016 6:35 pm

Just what hotel guests want— a shared terrace? Sharing a terrace with your hotel stranger neighbor? No thanks!

negativity
July 5, 2016 5:50 pm

Shame on the usual negative comments.

Makes this community seem so shallow…which is the furthest thing from the truth.

It must be a few unemployed folks – jealous at anyone else that does anything positive. Personally I wish a chabadnik would have done this but if not I am more then pleased others jumped in and rightfully so. This will add alot to CH overall.

Wonderful news.

Kosher kitchen
July 5, 2016 5:35 pm

Thats a good laugh! When it comes to business it is strictly business. I hardly doubt that they went on to consult with Crown Heights yidden whether they approve or not before they go ahead and build. Ya will be another way for visitors to have where to sleep although from what it sounds it would probably be much more affordable to just be crammed in a hosts basement than to spend a night at that hotel! Do this in Williamsburg you ask? Obviously that didnt work out too well thats why Crown Heights is honored with this Yuppie Magnet…

Hotel
July 5, 2016 5:33 pm

There is already a Hotel in CH. It’s the Eishel on Kingston

Wow
July 5, 2016 5:22 pm

i want to see what happens if this guy tries to build such a monstrasity in willy. we are getting sc$#^$d by the so called developers.

July 5, 2016 5:20 pm

Its Called Free Market… So if you dont like go ahead and form your socialist / communist group to prevent open market.

On the flip side… How Beautiful… I hope they have a kosher kitchen where the CH community can benefit and do events there…

Out-of -Towner
July 5, 2016 5:16 pm

Finally!!! Out-of-towners will have a place to stay and it will be possible to have more events in Crown Heights!!

finally
July 5, 2016 5:15 pm

its about time ch got a hotel!!

keep on dreaming
July 5, 2016 5:10 pm

you guys are dreaming if you think these ppl care to make a kosher hotel. this will be a yuppie hotel, another blow to our fragile community . these guys are picking at the bones of crown heights now.

these chassidim
July 5, 2016 4:59 pm

Correction: they are not chassidim. They say there is no Toras Habaal Shel Tov today (only money)

It will definitely cost more
July 5, 2016 4:58 pm

Than what a typical Shliach can afford. A good way for Williamsburg to make money.
