We can’t manage to hold that land and keep our Jewish majority. With Judea and Samaria on the other hand, estimates suggest we may actually be able to build a strong majority by the end of the century, and this should be our focus.
With Gaza we can aim to keep the territory we cleared of the population in the opening phase of the war. Hamas wants to reverse that for a ceasefire, but this would erase our strategic victory, and it is important that the message be sent: those who do what they did will lose land.

Gaza used to belong to the Philistines/Plishtim. But yes there were times there were Jews there, up to the riots of Tarpat (1929). We can aim to retain the territory we cleared of population in the North of Gaza, as holding it would send the message that those who attack us will lose in terms they understand.

Back in 2001, before 9/11, I was
on a flight to Pittsburgh. Sitting
next to me was a lady, who started
conversation with, and brought up
the then “intifada.” and showering praise
on Israel – yes she was a bible believer.

At the end of the flight, I told her,
“It seems the more we give them,
the more they hate us.” She told
me, “That’s because you are giving
back land that G-d promised you.”
