750,000 dollars were raised in honor of the 75th passing of R’ Levi Yitzchok in a world-wide campaign. Over 2000 donors from all corners of the world joined in.
This year the campaign’s goal was to raise money for the programs throughout the year in the 6 Jewish establishments that exist throughout the country: Almaty, Nur Sultan, Ust’-Kamenogorsk, Kostanay, Pavlodar and Karaganda; and for the 7th one to open this year in the city of Shymkent.
The campaign ran successfully by Bracha Torenheim and Yankie Teitelbaum of the Flowmotion team of New York.
Over 2,000 donors donated from all over the world! Every dollar was doubly matched by the philanthropists Mr. Alexander Moskevitch and Friends of Chabad of Kazakhstan, until the grand total of 750,577 was reached.
Rabbi Yeshaya Cohen, chief rabbi of Kazakhstan, sums up the campaign as follows: “It’s heart-warming to see how thousands of donors contributed towards Yiddishkeit in Kazakhstan, the country that the Rebbe’s father, R’ Levi Yitzchok, was exiled to. I have no doubt that the campaign for Chof Menachem-Av gave much nachas to the Rebbe le’iluy nishmas his father. ‘Keren Levi Yitzchok -through the Chabad Houses of Chabad Lubavitch of Kazakhstan’ succeeded beyond measure. I’d like to thank all the donors, all the active fundraisers who worked nights and days, and to the talented team who ran every detail exceptionally. We look at every donor as a true partner to what was already started 75 years ago through R’ Levi Yitzchok and is being continued today through the team of Shluchim. We are committed to reaching every Jewish soul in every city and remote village, to bring them closer to Yiddishkeit. May we merit in the zechus of the wondrous achdus to march together to greet Moshiach, immediately now”!
