Bais Chana Academy High School students, in Orange, CT, marked the day of 22 Shevat, passing of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka, in a most meaningful way. During the school day, Rabbi Aaron Herman spoke to students about personal growth inspired by Chassidus. His engaging talk was relatable and really got the students thinking.
In the evening, mothers and daughters joined together for dinner and an inspiring mother/daughter event. As part of the program, students presented their “Roots” projects, in which they researched key concepts in Chassidus and individuals who displayed emunah, heroism and strength during trying times. Guided by their teachers, Mrs. Malka Schmukler, Mrs. Chaya Hecht and Mrs. Devorah Leah Posner, the students’ creativity and talents shone! In addition, well researched chumash projects, from Mrs. Hindy Kalmenson’s Chumash class, were displayed. Students had to delve into different inyanim and sichos related to leadership and bring it all together with personal take-aways.
As one mother said, “I was so impressed with all the work the girls put into their projects. The hard work and dedication of Bais Chana teachers, was reflected in the amazing presentations.” Bais Chana mothers were involved in making this an exceptional evening. The decor and delicious freshly baked pastries added a special flavor to the evening. The climax of the evening was a concert/kumsitz with Bais Chana alumnus, Esther Freeman, which had students singing and dancing.
“We are so proud of Bais Chana students,” said Mrs. Bluma Hecht, principal, “and grateful to BCA’s teachers for bringing out the best in our students. This lovely evening filled with toichen, was a glimpse into the warmth and nurturing spirit found at Bais Chana, which makes it the special school that it is.” For more information about Bais Chana, located just 1.5 hours from Crown Heights, please call 203-795-5261.

Go BCA! Looks like an incredible evening for an incredible school! – a fan
This program looks beautiful! BCA is by far the most dedicated and warm Lubavitch girls high school. The programs that they have are always so well planned, and their education is top notch. I definitely recommend this high school
