Soft drink company Pepsi of Israel has launched a Facebook competition entitled “Big Spender” – offering NIS 1,000,000 to the one who comes up with the most original way to spend NIS 1,000,000 in one day.
Voting is done by using the social network Facebook.
On the last day for submitting entries, Rabbi Yaakov Gloiberman, head of the Yad B’yad Organization, Shliach Ziv Katzvi of Ramat Hasharon, and the organization Leket Israel joined the competition together, hoping to win the grand prize.
Yesterday, they advanced to the finals and are now in second place.

How could you call it Israel’s soft drink company. I remember well when Pepsi took part in the Arab economic boycott of Israel in the 1970’s. I traveled to Israel in 1975 as a child and found only Coke for sale in Israel, even though many of the soda machines had Pepsi still written on them. I inquired why I couldn’t have the Pepsi and was told Pepsi refused to sell in Israel because they were boycotting Israel to please the Arabs.
